Aperture House selected to be featured in House by Thai Architects Vol. 2

From the book: As diverse as they may be, these houses still seem to share another characteristic trait: the architects’ tendencies to question the conventional, the preconceived notion of a ‘house.’ As a result, they came up with critical ideas and creative solutions to their respective design problems. Tropical climate, therefore, does not always automatically translate to pitched roofs, which are by no means invalid or unfashionable, but simply not the only answer as many may have once assumed. Besides following basic orientations to minimize direct sun and maximize ventilation, here, with the help of more advanced construction materials and techniques, the architects were able to devise creative solutions to climate concerns such as double roof / double skin, various kinds of louver, long cantilevered shading elements, and non-conventional insulating materials such as water, among others. Solutions in terms of spatial organizations are equally interesting.which are by no means invalid or unfashionable, but simply not the only answer as many may have once assumed.
